[Fall Trend Report 2012]

Get Your Fall Fashion On

*Guest Blogger Feature!*

With fall just around the corner, guest blogger Zarah at My Big Fat Alt Life has prepared a list of our favorite up-and-coming trends for fall.

3. Oversized printed sweaters

Let's be honest: sweaters in fall isn't exactly an earthshattering revelation, but we're thinking a little less Cosby and a little more couture.   However, though the Burning Heart Sweater on the left comes courtesy of Wildfox for a price tag of just under $300, if you need style on a budget, we've got an outfit for you for under $200, handbag and shoes included.  If you're looking for something a shade darker, we've love this wool-cashmere skull printed pullover from the brand 360.

2. Fur and Leather Platforms

Our apologies to PETA, but fur is back in this season and frankly, leather was never out. At only $95 from heels.com, the Luichiny boots to my left are a great way to get the look for less. The use of goat fur in these Jeffrey Campbell wedges ($160 from farfetch.com) is a touch outrageous while the design remains chicly understated. Laasskaa's goat fur and wood heels
are far more unabashed in their style, revelling in their own macabre, high fashion glory. They wouldn't be out of place on the runway, on 1990s era Marilyn Manson or, if you have the fashion cred to pull them off, on your feet at your next big event. They may not be for the faint of heart, but good fashion rarely is.

  1. Velvet, velvet and more velvet

Throughout the ages, velvet was adored and worn religiously by nobility and Anne Rice
characters alike. From bohemian-gypsy types like Stevie Nicks to the old-school goths who still remain with us, clutching their crushed velvet and Bauhaus bootlegs, velvet has a history almost as rich and decadent as the fabric itself. It is no surprise, then, that it takes our number one spot for the season, starting with that painfully chic Emilio Pucci velvet jacket to the left. For your viewing (and shopping) pleasure, I've put together a complementary look for the $2500 jacket, though it is not for the faint of wallet. For those of you seeking a more afforable option, this Peter Pan-collared dress, a steal at just $38, will have you singing "Blue Velvet" in no time (our apologies to Mr. Lynch.)

 But wait, what about me?

No, I haven't forgotten my plus-sized fashionistas. Here's a few of our fall favorites in size-friendly options:

According to their size chart, BMA Modified carry the above sweaters and more in sizes up to 5X.

From ASOS Curve, this jersey and velvet dress and these velvet leggings come in up to a size 26. Also, carrying up to a 52" waist/64" hip, Persephone Plus carries more tradgoth velvetwear than you can shake a stick at.

[Note from Khrist: Thank you for all of your letters and emails! To those that have started the fast - from what I've seen, you've all had awesome results. You guys are an inspiration...keep on, and I'll be updating soon. <3]

[what i ate last night]

A few people on Instagram what this was.  I'm not a photographer, I am not a chef.  But this tasted AMAZING.

Ingredients:
3 oz. Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
6 Large Kale Leaves, chopped
1/4 Medium Red Onion, Chopped
3 Cloves Garlic, Chopped
1 Tbs. Vegetable Oil (to coat pan)
Salt/Pepper/Seasoning to Taste

I pre-heated my pan and threw my garlic and onions in there until the onions were slightly soft and browning. I put the kale on top and stirred it to mix it up (I don't use technical terms, NOT A CHEF) - and put the lid on the pan.  It takes about 3-5 minutes to steam itself so about 2 minutes in I chopped my grilled chicken so all the juices wouldn't be lost and the chicken wouldn't get all dry and icky.  Threw that on top of the kale 4 minutes in and put the lid back on after folding everything together and turned the heat on low or removed it completed. Voila!

Adding up all the calories - it comes up to:
135 cal per Serving
This recipe makes:
4 servings

And this is an amazing amount - my portion was huge and I ate it with chopsticks, just because I'm weird.
Once again - if you eat starch, and I don't - it would probably be fantastic over brown rice. Plus your servings should last you 2-3 days unless other people are stealing it from you because it's awesome. Haha!
Enjoy!

[Post All Over Social Networking]

In regards to the IMMENSE amount of feedback I received (165 likes on public FB, 35 on Fan FB, 55 on Instagram and 100 comments and counting) -
THANK YOU!

My current weight is 162.
Down from 182.
This proved to me (again) that if I put my mind to something I can do it.
And once again, if you see me in any of the pictures older than I month ago, though I still was a size 9 - I was at my highest weight.
Crazy!

Here is the current picture and you can scroll down to see the older ones.
Once again thank you - and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have!

[1 Month Weigh In With A Harsh Truth]

So I need to address the fact that a lot of people
a) wanted to see a new blog post
and
b) were crazy worried about me losing my curves
and
c) the amazing response of how much I inspired people to be pro-active, juice fast, or just support me!

Here are numbers - figured being drunk (don't drink kids) and posing a picture of my weight last night because it came in ending in 666 was more amusing than anything else which I slipped up and put my ACTUAL weight up.  Which was supposed to be a "big secret" (see what I did there) until I had lost 14 more pounds.

Okay, here are the dirty deetz you wanted, so I'm going to give them to you.  I juice pretty much every day at least once a day.  I stopped eating carbs (though I did have a trip to Nashville which all sorts of messed up my fast and made me stupid sick because you just can't hop off a fast and try to eat a plate of delicious eggs).  I eat a LOT of raw foods if I need a taste fix, check out this kale recipe.  Season to your taste, but since I am only on raw foods/juicing - you can add brown/whole grain rice if you wanna go all Asian on this because kale tends to be all wild tasting at first but super yummy.  Another thing I made, cauliflower soup (seriously guys some of you may be like...wtf...but it is SUPER yummy, uber low calorie, makes 6 servings so you can freeze the leftovers,  and replaces a lot of things you wouldn't even consider) - here is a link to my recipe.

So there is a tid-bit of information.
I'm going to post my weight from two days ago to today.  I feel like crap because I am going to get the back lash from a million anorexic models that who say I am always going to be fat blah blah blah I can't model at this size.  I honestly don't care the label you give me - but you are throwing it out there the wrong way guys!  I have been working out a LOT and I was modeling and selling prints at the size I was when I started and getting paid - so I don't take the anorexic route for this, I do at least try to get one juice and something sustainable before 7pm - I work for my modeling and it is pretty hard for anyone to pay in this city these days.  I will be proud and say that my weight loss and juice fast will continue until I am down to 150 - then it start doubling it up to get to 130.

**EDIT BELOW, apparently numbers eluded me this morning**
Any-who, here ya go.
 I started at 182.2 on June 23, 2012.
Less than one month later on July 21, 2012 I have lost 18 pounds.
I currently weigh 164.2.
It would have been way more, but I tend to get lazy and jog an hour and strength train each day.
That is a little over 4 pounds a week.
My BMI, at my 5'5.5 frame, once I hit anything under 152, I will no longer become considered "Overweight."
And for who also all of you have been asking, my measurements are 36-26-40.  Don't ask me why my butt/hips are big.  It happens.

Here's yer proof guys, damn I need a pedicure:

Oh, and here is me modeling at 182 pounds, so suck it:

Love you for all the support and inspiration!

[el-juicy ho]

Whew!  It's been a hot second in life since I posted here!  There has been a big hoopla about my juice fasting and people have been asking questions.  There are a few places you can find videos, which I can link but I can outline most of it below.

I'm happy to say I've lost 15 pounds, have about 18 to go!!

--------------------------

Okay!!!! Here are the shorthand notes on how i'm doing - I juice once or twice a day after juicing fasting for... 14 days straight? At that point I had put my body into a hiatus and starvation mode - so i kicked it back up by drinking a protein shake every day (the Elite Whey Protein Isolate in Gourmet Vanilla - about $25 for a 2lb Tub that will last you at least 3 months), 5 brussel sprouts boiled with chopped garlic, juice at night and today I had something like 1/4 of a peeled, chopped cucumber? Crazy craving that I wanted to make sure I had a healthy snack - I was too full even to finish it.You don't really have a taste for food after that.

I think after all of that it comes up to 390 - something calories for me today. Now that is 800 less than the amount even as an extreme dieter are supposed to consume - so that is why I tell everyone to go talk to a doctor first - in the documentary "Fat. Sick, and Nearly Dead" if you drink 3 of the "Mean Green Juices" that actually adds up to 1200 calories so your metabolic rate stays up.  The website they have up doesn't even advise you to go beyond a 3 day fast and they have a pretty bangin' community over there.

Okay! Working out: I had a trainer for a while and then realized, why am I doing this when I can just use my apartment's gym? I usually run/walk briskly on a treadmill for 45mins - 1hr. And then depending on if I am strength training (weights, etc.) I will switch it out (25 strength/35 cardio) etc etc. Try to get an hour in every day as of so far and am still losing a pound or so a day.  This is every day - so slowly I am increasing this since I literally was an inactive fat oaf before hand.

I even had 3 days off of all of good eating because i was in Nashville and wasn't going to spend 4 bucks a meal on Odwalla or Naked drinks. So. I realized that even trying to eat hashbrowns and one egg for breakfast = tummy NOT happy. So if you are going on a crazy fast, there are sites that tell you how to come off of it.

--------------------------------

I own a Cuisinart juicer - it's a good one, but if you can't afford it - just get a damn juicer.
 Something that JUICES!

This is what is in one serving of my juice:
3 Kale Leaves
1 Handful of Spinach
1 Granny Smith Apple
1/2 Cucumber
3 Stalks of Celery
1/2 Lemon
4 Strawberries
Thumb sized piece of ginger

-------

I was drinking this three times a day, but now I am down to once at night and I always make juice in advance for the next day.

I also drink...way more than 8 cups of water a day (keeps you full - less crazy girl cravings!)

Here are some progress pictures (far right was taken 10 minutes ago):

Please ask more questions if you have any -

I am going to post all of them on my blog! xoxo

[latex, lace, and updates!]

Wow, I guess I'm doing a monthly update at this point - which needs to stop. First of all - the wicked week of shooting with Carbon Decay coupled with Paperdolls & Pompadours making a dream team to work with.

Included in the mix was Collective Chaos, Hoodoo Shoes, HMS Latex, Essential Latex, Somnia Romantica, Bete Noir designs, Gothfox....a million others that you will see previews from soon enough after they are confirmed with publications (YEAHH!!!). From here we are planning more upcoming large shoots like this one in which they will be extremely more organized. All the girls who were included in this shoot did a great job and I cannot wait to see everyone's pictures!

I'm including a few behind the scenes pictures from all the wildness of myself, the rest can be found on my Facebook since there were well over 100.

In other news, I'm getting a dog soon!!! (American Eskimo) Have a bunch of other shoots, working with a personal trainer, and my site is being built. I should be BACK on Zivity soon - I've been dormant on there since 2008, so it will be good to actually start shooting sets again along with more sets for my site. Hope you are all doing well!!! This year is my comeback, and so far I'm still coming out on top!

[it's been a while...]

From the request of several people, I'm going to start updating on here again. It's a more personal/explanatory area instead of a basic Facebook post or Tweet. So, since it's been almost a year since I've posted - need to get ya' up to date!

We are going backwards on this one. I have started to do more pin-up or girlish style shoots. I will of course always having fun doing, it just seems that it is time for me to turn over a new leaf and do some more things. Here is a picture that I took for my Valentine's Day cards by the amazing Dim Horizon Studios. Hair and MUA: Pin-Up Girl Cosmetics Atlanta.

Also been working more to show off the ink:

The next endeavor I am taking part of is another shoot with Carbon Decay. He is flying down from NYC to my new place in Atlanta to do another week long collaboration shoot. I haven't seen him in two years so I'm totally stoked.

Went to Bassnectar for New Years and here are a few candids from the last few months:

There are a lot of things missing in-between that. Working with Mannon Pictures and noisenest - absolutely awesome. Losing some friends gaining some friends. Still getting attacked on the home-front about being "unattractive" and "overweight." I've had a few death threats (unrelated). Things have gotten way better than this time last year and I'm finally getting closer and closer to graduation. I work-out every day and am still eating correctly.....so I guess no starving for me!

Oh and one last thing, HolyKhrist.com is currently being built. I hope to have it up mid-March, but it is expensivveeee to have what I'm doing for it.

*If you are interested in shooting a set for the site please send me an email: khristmodel@gmail.com*

Also, up until February 7th, I am taking your personal addresses and mailing out Valentine's that are prints of me to your doorstep, email me at the address listed above if you want one!

Taking any/all questions you may have, and I look forward to updating with all the goodies and things that are coming up!
xoxo
